David Thybert received his PhD in computational biology from the University of Rennes (France) in which he performed large scale study of the ROS/RNS detoxification enzymes in procaryote genomes. Following his PhD, he moved to Cambridge to start a postdoc at the EBI. He focused his work on understanding the mechanisms of transcription regulation and genome evolution in mammals using mice as model organisms.

After his postdoc, David was awarded a fellowship at EI where he continues his work on mammals genome evolution and focuses his study on understanding the molecular and evolutionary mechanism of adaptation to environment.
