Sofia Kudasheva

I am a Norwich Research Park Bioscience Doctoral Training Partnership (NRPDTP) PhD student working in the Haerty lab. My research project will involve using both short and long read RNA-Seq data analysis to study the function and expression of novel alternative splicing events across development and cell types in humans and mice.

Prior to starting my PhD, I obtained a BSc and a MSc by research in Biology at the University of York. During my MSc I realised the potential that bioinformatics has as a functional genomics tool and started using computational approaches to characterize the changes in expression of the splicing machinery and alternative splicing events during neuronal development in Xenopus frogs.
