EI Innovate 2022
Tackling urgent global challenges through pioneering research
training@earlham.ac.uk
Pioneering research at the Earlham Institute is addressing the biggest challenges facing humanity, from climate change and food security to human health and wellbeing.
EI Innovate is an annual engagement event that provides an insight into the Earlham Institute's research, exploring opportunities for innovation and collaboration. Specialising in agri-food, biotech, med-tech and public health, we have a wealth of experience collaborating with others to develop potential solutions to urgent industrial and societal challenges.
After 2 years of successfully hosting EI Innovate online, we are excited to welcome you to EI Innovate 2022 as an in-person event, which we hope will provide an excellent networking opportunity to explore new collaborations.
This year we will highlight specific areas where our research is generating impact. Through our unique blend of science, expertise and infrastructure, and working with national and international partners, we are addressing the biggest challenges facing humanity, food security, environmental sustainability and human health. As evidenced by our recent socioeconomic impact report, the Earlham Institute is expected to contribute around £4 billion to the global economy over the next 10 years, and return of nearly £13 for every £1 invested in the institute.
EI Innovate events have gone on to foster exciting and valuable conversations between academia and industry. An example of an exciting collaboration that resulted from a previous EI Innovate is the Hybrid Wheat Initiative, which connects 25 breeding companies and research institutes worldwide, to resolve the critical challenge of hybrid wheat.
EI Innovate provides the platform to connect across disciplines and between academia and industry to discuss current scientific and technical advances and industry challenges. Each year EI Innovate brings together attendees from a range of sectors including agri-food, biotech, med-tech sectors, clinicians, developers of instrumentation, tools, products and services for genomics and bioinformatics.
This event will also be of interest to funders of life science innovation government departments, and other academic organisations.
We are planning a great interactive experience, with plenty of networking opportunities.
