Biography
I am a senior bioinformatician in the Swarbreck group where my focus is currently on application and improvements of strategies for genome annotation as part of the Decoding Biodiversity strategic programme.
I have a strong interest in the development of bioinformatics methods, with a particular emphasis on computational efficiency and explainability.
I obtained a joint PhD in computer science and plant genetics from Montana State University where I worked on the development of methods for polyploid crop analysis with an emphasis on wheat.
Following the completion of my PhD I worked as an industrial bioinformatician within a biomedical start-up.
