Alice is a John Innes Foundation Intern in Dr Sarah Guizou’s group, studying how we can engineer plant root architecture and microbial interactions.

Her work at the Earlham Institute focuses on plant development.

Alice started her research career studying protease effectors secreted by the pathogen, Phytophthora infestans during infection. This work was supervised by Prof. Renier van der Hoorn and contributed to an integrated Masters of Biology from the University of Oxford.

Prior to joining the Earlham Institute, Alice worked on the role of Aphanomyces euteiches pathogen effectors in manipulating the rhizosphere microbiome with Prof. Elodie Gaulin of the LRSV, Toulouse.
