Daniel is a Postdoctoral Researcher within the Quince Group at the Earlham Institute. He is part of the Decoding Biodiversity research programme.

His current interests include the study of the gut microbiome by using multi-omics approaches to understand the impacts of fiber in Crohn's disease and antimicrobial resistance mechanisms. He is also interested in the application of machine learning methods to study diversity and function in host-associated and environmental microbiomes.

Prior to starting at the Earlham Institute, Daniel worked at the Ludwigs Maximilian University in Munich as a Postdoctoral Researcher in environmental microbiome and did his PhD at the University of Tübingen in Germany in plant microbiome protein interactions.
