Hélène Yvanne

I am working on crop/pathogens interactions, more particularly on the sea beet/sugar beet system and its susceptibility/resistance to Uromyces beticola, the beet rust pathogen. The aim of my project, in collaboration with the German breeding company KWS, is to identify resistance genes in sea beet, in order to improve the sugar beet crop. To do that, I am applying an association genetics method based on k-mers analysis, AgRenSeq (Sanu A. et al., 2019).

Previous to that, I completed a Master degree at the University of Bordeaux, France, in Cellular and Molecular Genetics. I worked on the spok genes, involved in meiotic drive in the filamentous fungus Podospora anserina, at the Cellular Biochemistry and Genetics Institute of Bordeaux.
